Laryngopharyngeal Reflux
8-25-04 I was Diagnosed with LPR which is Laryngoharyngeal Reflux which i think is worse then just having gastroesophageal refux, i was told my vocal cords were swollen and that explain why i had asthma like symptons, ear pain, chronic cough, swallowing difficulties, nasal drainage, constant throat clearing, hoarseness, and feeling of a lump in a throat will not go away. Funny thing is the ENT found out this problem not my GI doc. He felt i be a good candidate for surgery, which i'm sure no one likes to hear that. Now there are two procedures that i was told about the stretta procedure or the Laparoscopic Nessen Fundoplication. I hope neither for the moment so at this time i'm trying Nexium 40 mg 2x's a day and hope it will heal me so i don't have to go through any of the procedures. It's hard having GI problems so i can relate to all those miserable out there hang in there, your not the only one....
