fundo wrap
I just want folks out there to know that when you're done suffering with GERD, and only you know when you are ready- surgery is a great option; I wish I had my surgery earlier. I have my life back and can eat food without worrying how badly it will hurt in a couple of hours.
I waited almost 10 years. Almost nightly I had indigestion and would burp continuously until my food was so high up in my chest I would have to vomit- and I don't mean regurgitate- I vomited my whole evening meal for years. Until I vomited I could barely breathe with all that food in my chest.
2 weeks ago after tests I had partial wrap Nissen fundoplication.
I can eat almost anything, and I burp plenty (this may be from surgery gasses) but all my food stays down in my abdomen like it should!
I was off pain meds by day 4 except Tylenol.
Let me know if you have any questions and I can help alleviate your fears just by telling my story- I had never had surgery before and was quite scared.
good luck people- I know it's hard, just know there are folks like me that want to support you thru .
