Unbelievable!

I have just read several stories by people who are suffering severe reflux problems and have had little relief from the medication prescribed them. My experience was that it took three doctors before I got a diagnosis of reflux and even then, it was not recognized that the sinusitis that I had could have been caused by the reflux also. The medication that I got was also not really reliable and it took my own initiative and elimination of any foods that provoked acidity to bring the symptoms under control. In my case, that included the peppermint, chocolate, tomatoes, spicy foods, chocolate, coffee and other caffeine sources, milk, peanuts, beans (including soy products), wheat and some others. I found that I could not determine what foods caused bad reactions while I was taking the acid suppressor medication (ranitidine), and I was still getting the effect of reflux only without the same high acidity. The reflux was still irritating enough that I had the cough, phlegm and occaisional sinusitis with the medication. I have a slight hiatus hernia and even so, with my current regime and careful chewing of my food and avoiding drinking at meals (I have some trouble with food not going down completely on swallowing, so I do have water on hand in case of such difficulty), the symptoms are under control, but not completely gone. I find it amazing that there is so little emphasis on this approach when it seems plain that the existing medications are not adequate. Your stupid filters don't accept my true e-mail address.
