Yes, Brian, there is chest pain with acid reflux and gerd. I cannot lay back in a dentist chair, without getting what I call a gas bubble. As soon, as I sit up again, the pain goes, of course after the belch. That is the suffering of the ugly bouts that acid reflux causes. I am happy to read that doctors are getting more active in finding out how sick we are. Use pepcid ac on phazyme (2 capsules), and drink lots of green tea with nothing in it.
